Ambrosia

Life Beyond L.A. (Warner Bros. 1978)

     Premetto che non sono un amante degli Ambrosia, la cui musica, legata al rock progressivo, mi é spesso sembrata troppo pomposa. Una loro segnalazione è però obbligatoria, soprattutto per la presenza all'interno del gruppo di David Pack, grande autore e cantante che ci regala in alcune occasioni, dei veri gioielli musicali. In questo terzo lavoro della band abbiamo dei brani notevoli, come "Apothecary" e "Dancin' by myself", ma il vero capolavoro del disco é "How much I feel", un pezzo eccezionale, ricercato e musicalmente perfetto, che da solo vale l'acquisto dell'album. Le altre composizioni in scaletta non sono niente di speciale ma nel complesso il risultato é più che sufficiente.
