The Second One (Avenue of Allies 2013)

     A distanza di tre anni dall'album di debutto esce il secondo lavoro degli svedesi State Cows. Se primo disco aveva ottenuto ottime recensioni e goduto del favore degli amanti della musica west coast, sicuramente il nuovo "The Second One" non deluderà le aspettative. I due artisti Stefan Olofsson e Daniel Andersson scrivono, producono e arrangiano tutti brani ma si avvalgono della collaborazione di grandi professionisti della scena losangelina. Jay Graydon ritorna con un notevole assolo di chitarra in "In The City" e lo stesso fanno altri chitarristi di fama mondiale come Michael Landau in "This Time", Peter Friestedt in "Mister White", Swen Larsson in "Hard Goodbye" e Ian Bairnson in "I Got Myself Together". Tra gli ospiti troviamo anche Bill Champlin che presta la sua inconfondibile voce in "Finally Fair and Balanced". Tutti i brani sono godibilissimi e i piacevoli arrangiamenti e le belle armonie vocali ci riportano al sound di gruppi storici come Pages, Aiplay, Steely Dan, Toto e Chicago.
